Flow: build the conditions, don’t chase the feeling

Evidence syntheses support a relationship between flow states and performance, but “flow” is best treated as an outcome of conditions: challenge-skill balance, clear goals, immediate feedback.

Try this: define a task that’s 4–7/10 difficulty, set a 25–45 minute timer, remove feedback delays (e.g., live metrics, quick review).
